I just came back last night from Milan and tonight I’m leaving for Rome. I love the life of a traveller. It never stops.
How do you feel today?
You know what I like about the Italian lifestyle? They know when to take a break and how to enjoy life. I’ve been living in Toronto for so long now that I am completely immersed in the go-go-go style, so much so that it always takes me a bit of time to get used to the more relaxed way of life that people live by in Rome. Honestly, I don’t think I could go back to that lifestyle permanently, it’s just not the way I am. I cannot take a break until I know that all the tasks I had set my mind to do have been completed.
I like being able to go back for just a couple of days and not having to think about responsibilities and so on. At the same time though, I don’t like taking too long of a break because I’m scared I’m going to crash and also get too comfortable not doing much.
Right now this is exactly the rhythm I want my life to go by. It works for me now and hopefully it will keep working for a long time. Not having a 9-to-5 kind of job helps me keep my mind away from entering an emotional rut. Not knowing what my schedule is or better knowing what it will look like month by month helps me enjoy my time off from work and plan my days better.
Today I am feeling grateful for what I have, how are you feeling?
