I don’t think there is a person in this world who loves strawberries more than my sister. She loves them so much that whenever I get some, I have to hide them because if she finds them she’ll eat them all. She likes them dipped in chocolate, possibly Nutella, sprinkled with some sugar and also topped with enormous amounts for whipped cream on top.
The other day she came in the kitchen looking for some cream to whip up, I asked her what she was going to do with it, since we didn’t have any strawberries in the fridge. Her answer was: “I’m going to freeze it. I watched a video on the internet and they did that.” Well, I thought: “ok, and then what?” She showed me the video and it’s basically frozen cream that you can cut out in any shape you want and then dip it in your tea, coffee or hot chocolate. I thought it was a very cute idea, it makes your drink cuter and a little more interesting than the regular liquid cream you would usually pour in.
So from that idea I decided to change it a little and here you have a new, modern idea of the classic strawberries and cream dessert.
I whipped the cream, without adding any sugar, then I cut up a few strawberries and added them to the plate. I heated some Nutella over a pot of hot water and let it melt a little then I drizzled it over the strawberries. To give some more taste to the strawberries & cream dessert I also dipped strawberries in chocolate and placed it on the frozen whipped cream.
It’s a nice, light and summery dessert to serve at a gathering. Enjoy!
