Today I wanted to take some time to tell you what’s been going on lately in my life. I haven’t been on the blog as much as I’d like to mainly because I have been overwhelmed with many other projects and activities. As you may know I started an internship in mid December in Rome, which takes up most of my day three times a week, I’m taking an online course in Human Resource Management from my old college and I’m trying to get my license. I passed my written test last Friday (which was a pleasant surprise for me and honestly I still can’t believe I am taking driving lessons!) so now all I have to do is practice on driving a car and then I’ll be all set!
As a kid, I used to dream that one day I would be able to drive, and the car I’ve always wanted and still want is the mini cooper. So yesterday, when I drove for the first time with my mother down the road where actual cars pass by, I was terrorized and excited at the same time! After the moment passed and I was able to park and get out of the car I realized how important it is to do something you’ve never done, even though it scares you. Just go for it and get out of your comfort zone I keep telling myself. It’s all a matter of crossing that bridge, as soon as you’ve made the first step, then you know you can do it again and get better at it. That’s exactly what I did today, I drove again down the road with much more confidence than I had yesterday and now I will keep practicing until I’m not scared and nervous anymore. As a famous quote says: “Comfort is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there.”

Congrats on passing your written test! I was the same way when I was getting my license…scared to bits but so excited at the same time. After awhile, driving becomes second nature and the fear and excitement would ease to be replaced by confidence. Good luck! 🙂
