Growing up, I remember not caring much about the way I looked, I was the kind of girl who liked to play, read books and spend the days dreaming about my future and my dream job, which by the way, has changed so many times during the years that I’m now totally winging it and going with the flow.
But let’s go back to the real subject of this post, I started to get interested in fashion when I was already in my third year of high school and from there on I decided that I wanted to combine my newly discovered passion with my old one: writing. Becoming a journalist had always been a thought at the back of my mind, but I never thought I would be able to study it and even gain a degree. When this new goal was met, last year, I was excited and terrified at the same time. And now? Where do I start from? Who do I contact? When will I begin my dream career?
While I’m still looking for a position in the fashion magazine department, starting a blog has made my days fuller, livelier and more exciting. I am my own editor, copy editor, photo editor and publisher. I can share my personal style and feel comfortable knowing that I am practicing the skills I learned in my three years in college in Toronto and I know that I can and will improve more and more with time.
My personal style has been changing through the years and while I still haven’t found MY style, I like to think that comfort and class are the two main feelings I try to reach in every look I put together.
To change up my style I like to find inspiration from the street, while I am walking to work or from fellow bloggers, but sometimes there are some trends that are not as popular as others, like the androgynous silhouette, the one earring trend or even the preference for flat shoes. I personally like to switch it up and wear sneakers with a more elegant outfit and vice versa like I did this time. Now, I am super excited to share with you guys my collaboration with the luxury fashion website Farfetch. In the infographic below, Fashion’s New Wave, which Farfetch beautifully created, you can check out some more styles and get more and more inspiration for your next looks! This infographic showcases 10 ways, not as popular as they should be, to do style differently and break the rules of this fashion season. It’s a Farfetch fashion affair!
Take a look and let me know, which ones do you prefer?

Erika I love this post! I feel the same way when it comes to journalism and fashion. I started my blog thinking the very thing you said. Have you ever heard of Her Campus? I interned for them when I was in college and I know they post a lot of jobs that are for writers like yourself. Check it out: http://www.hercampus.com Best of luck 🙂
