Yesterday you didn’t really hear much about me here on the blog aside from Instagram where I did take some photos, because I was spending the day with one of my best friends.
Since my return back to Canada I hadn’t spent time with her talking and laughing like we used, but yesterday we finally got the chance to spend the entire day together and we did this surrounded by some of the most famous high-fashion brands in the world. Yorkdale Mall is where we went.
After a walk around the stores that we love the most, we went into Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Holt Renfrew, Ted Baker etc. we decided to go check out what movies were playing on the big screen and you can’t imagine my joy when I saw that The Intern was playing. I had seen the trailer of this movie with Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway while still in Italy and I had wanted to watch it since. When I got here I completely forgot about it and I had no idea what was being shown in the theatres, so when I saw that it was on I convinced my friend to go see it.
I don’t want to spoil it for you, but I will say that if you are an intern at the moment or will be this movie is definitely a must-see. It was funny and witty and I loved how they twisted the image of the intern to be a 70-year-old man instead of your usual 20-something. You will find the senior being surrounded by young people still trying to figure out their place in the world.
Then there’s Anne Hathaway who plays the role of the creator and CEO of a startup luxury e-commerce website which she founded only nine months earlier and overnight became a huge success. She’s a newbie at this kind of work, and she needs help. That’s why you hire interns right?
The rest of the day was spent shopping and catching up on what’s been happening in our lives lately. Just like old times.
