You know that feeling that you can feel creeping up from inside you, that grows every day a little more until it reaches your mind and it becomes a voice in your head that tries to tell you something and all you want to do is shut it up?
I had that voice and that feeling, and all I did was try to drown it.
What is your gut feeling telling you?
I hear the phrase: “trust your instinct” often and as a very indecisive human being I always thought it to be very confusing.
How am I supposed to trust my feelings when I don’t even know what to pick from a restaurant menu when I go out?
Well, I know now that sometimes there’s just a feeling that keeps coming back, over and over, and it’s better not to ignore it because that voice inside your head is probably telling you something that you’d rather not hear, but is definitely true.
I had a gut feeling that someone was lying to me, or at least hiding something, and when I found out the truth I can’t say I was shocked. Surprised yes, but shocked? Why would I be shocked if I had this feeling creeping in the back of my mind the whole time we were talking?
What I learned from this experience is that whenever you feel something isn’t right, it probably isn’t. I should’ve known, I should have opened my eyes much earlier, but in the end I see this unfortunate event as a learning experience.
Trust your gut feeling and if you have doubts about something or someone, don’t ignore the situation.
