I just got back from a week in paradise! I was in Cayo Santa Marìa and it was the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever been on!
Cayo Santa Marìa
I went to this small Cuban island connected to the main island of Cuba by a 48-km causeway from the coastal town of Caibarien. My friend, who wanted to celebrate her birthday in a sunny and warm place, and I stayed at the Melia Las Dunas resort.
The first day we enjoyed spending time on the beach. I was mesmerized by the colour of the water, I’ve never seen such bright shades of blue and green and there was no waves or wind, so the day ended up being perfect and decided to throw a photoshoot in there 🙂
The rest of the week the weather was not as great. It was windy, cloudy and it rained quite a few times, so we ended up spending most of our time sitting by the pool. Those photos are soon to come as well 😉
I wanted to take some Spanish classes because I noticed they were advertising them on the site, but when I started asking around no one really knew anything about it so I spent my time reading instead.
It’s been a while since I spent this much time around water and under the sun and I have to say, I did miss it a lot! The last time I had this kind of vacation was when I went to Hawaii, but this time it was even better because we booked an all-inclusive resort so we wouldn’t have to think about planning anything or worry about anything else other than getting to the destination and back.
It was the best choice we could have made! I highly recommend you do the same if you ever feel like you need some time to relax and you don’t want to think about planning the trip in detail.
It was a great vacation and exactly what I needed to recharge and start the year off right!
