“New year, new me!” that’s one sentence you’ve probably heard people say at least once since December 30th. For me, it’s been all over Social Media and the truth is, I’m over this phrase!
Happy 2019!
New Year’s eve has always been one of my favourite celebrations! I love the beginning of a new year, it almost feels like closing a book and starting a new one. What I have come to realize though, is that the start of a new year doesn’t mean you get to reset your life and magically become a better version of yourself. It takes time to make changes, all we can do is focus on the goals we set ourselves and patiently work on bettering ourselves.
I remember writing a similar post last year, I said I was going to learn Spanish, travel, make some changes and in the end I did do a couple of things I had on my list, but I didn’t end up learning a new language. This year I am beginning the year in quite a different way and I am hoping that 2019 ends up being a better year than 2018.
When I say I started the year in a different way compared to other years it’s because I ended up having the 31st off work and I was able to celebrate and enjoy the night with my friends and I couldn’t imagine spending it any other way!
I finally ordered a Spanish book from Amazon so I can start learning the language, (Cable Girls on Netflix really got me in the mood and gave me the push I needed.)
And finally, I’m beginning the year with a getaway! I’m going to Cuba for my friend’s birthday in less than 3 days and I can’t wait to lay on a beach, under the sun! Post soon to come 😉
I hope you have a wonderful year, full of happiness and success! Happy 2019!
