Let’s be honest, 2018 was a year to forget! So with at the end of it I told myself that 2019 was going to be better.
How to Begin 2019 with Positivity
Better for me and for the people around me. I hope 2019 brings happiness and many new amazing moments to myself and the people around me.
What I wanted to talk about in this post is positivity. I know we all talk about it a lot. We might tell others to stay positive, we might tell ourselves to stay positive when times start getting hard, but the reality is that being or staying positive is a very difficult task to master.
My first reaction when times start getting hard is to panic, it takes me a moment to relax and think things through and it’s something that I’ve been trying to work on for the past year. Think about the positive side, there’s always a silver lining. That’s what I try to tell myself to keep the negative out and the positive growing.
This year I decided to begin with only positive thoughts and being grateful for what I have instead of desiring what I don’t have. I want this year to be filled with memories, happiness and love. As I write these words I realize how cheesy they might sound, but being away from my family for a long time has thought me that the most important things in your life are not things, it’s the people.
Positivity comes from a place of self-awareness and confidence.
I decided to live as many new experiences as I can this year and learn to grow and embrace the changes and challenges instead of complaining and closing myself off to the world.
My cousin, one of the sweetest people in the world, is the most positive person I know and she always reminds me that whatever emotion, feeling and thought you put out there into the universe, that’s what will come back to you. I always found it very hard to stay positive every time something happened, but I realized, with all the events that went down last year that being negative is also very draining. So why not try something new for a change and see if this positive thinking actually works?
