Lately I’ve been looking for some new cruelty-free skincare and beauty products and I think I found some really good options.
We live in 2019, we are perfectly capable of creating products that don’t have to be tested on animals and yet, it is a procedure that is still widely used.
Cruelty-Free products you should try for Spring 2019
I’m making an effort to read the labels and use products that are vegan and don’t harm animals in the making.
Remember though, cruelty-free and vegan are not synonyms! Cruelty-free means that the product wasn’t tested on animals while vegan means that the product doesn’t contain any animal-derived ingredients. This is a major difference since a product can be cruelty-free, but not vegan and vice versa.
And by reading this article on CamilleStyles.com, I also learned that brands that sell in China must undergo animal testing. So if you’re an animal lover and are trying to shy away from brands that test on animals this is an easy way of knowing for sure which brands to buy and which ones to leave on the shelf.
I also try to scout local products, and since I live in Canada I begin my search for beauty products at home. Vivier is exactly that: a Canadian brand which also doesn’t test on animals.
I tried the Vitamin C Scrub, the C + E peptides and the daily age-defying moisturizer and all of them made my skin feel soft and smooth! I really love these products and being cruelty-free makes them even better!
Other brands that are made in Canada and that are cruelty-free are Marcelle and Lise Watier. I love makeup and having products that I know aren’t harming anyone is just what I want.
From Marcelle I got a Sheer tint moisturizer, which I really liked because it’s tinted so it’s not heavy and it moisturized my face instead of leaving it dry and the anti fatigue eye contour gel.
While from Lise Watier I tried the cooling cream foam cleanser that left my skin feeling clean and soft and also cool since the cream contains menthol that helps cool down the skin.
