I have to be very honest here and tell you that I started using foundation on a regular basis only in the last couple of years. Before that my makeup bag contained a pencil, many, many eyeshadows, mascara and lipsticks. Foundation? Who uses foundation? not me!
Lighweight Foundations You can wear Anytime
I never used foundation because I didn’t like the feeling of it on my face. I found it to be too heavy and I could never find the perfect shade, probably because I didn’t look for it enough..
Fast forward to now and foundation is part of my everyday makeup routine.
I think that the reason why I can now use foundation is because I found the right kinds! I love lightweight, water-based foundations that won’t clog my pores and will make my skin feel as if it’s makeup-free.
I have a few foundations that I tried on and now I can’t stop using.
- Stila, Aqua Glow Serum Foundation: this foundation is known for being water-based and for blurring blemishes. I use this one whenever I feel like leaving the house with a casual outfit and don’t want to wear too much makeup. You know? the no makeup, makeup look?
- Charlotte Tilbury, Light Wonder Foundation: This foundation is my Holy Grail. I wear it to work (sometimes up to 15 h) and it never fails to keep my skin looking smooth, moisturized and soft. It almost feels as if I’m not even wearing it. I was so happy when I bought this one. It’s definitely my top 1 favourite foundation. I also love the fact that it contains SPF15 which protects from the skin from UV damage.
- Vichy, Teint Ideal Foundation: Another one of my favourites has to be this Vichy foundation. As soon as I tried it on I felt like my skin looked smoother, softer and more radiant. This foundation is formulated for normal to combination skin and like the Stila, it had a water-based texture. It contains Vitamin E and C to unify and regenerate the skin. I like wearing this one when I go out and I know that my skin will need a boost.
- It Cosmetics, Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF50+: This one really gives me a complete coverage for days when my skin really doesn’t want to cooperate and it decides to break loose and unleashes all it bad creatures aka pimples! It smooths the skin and enhances the brightness. It’s colour-correcting and never cracks. Exactly what I need! A plus to this one is that it’s also infused with an advanced anti-aging serum that diffuses the look of wrinkles and minimizes pores. I’ll take it!
All in all, these are my 4 favourite foundations at the moment and I hope you try them on and you let me know what you think!
