I’m finally back in Italy, and specifically in this area called Castelli Romani, that’s around an hour away from Rome.
It’s been a week since I got off the airplane and set my first foot onto Italian ground. I’ve missed this place a lot while I was gone and being back here means that I get to see my family and friends again. Tomorrow for example I’m going to this small, cute town called Albano to meet a dear friend of mine who I haven’t seen for a year! It’s always nice to go for a walk around all these lovely towns and the best part about it is that these towns are so close to each other. So close that you could actually walk from one town to the other without even taking too long and the view is always breathtaking.
This morning my mother, my sister and I decided to go for a walk in this town called Nemi which has a lake and it’s always cool, even during those hot, Italian, summer days that I usually dread. Nemi is probably one of my favourite places to go to and just walk around because I find it very relaxing and peaceful, especially in the morning.
There are so many cute stores and many coffee shops and ice cream places (gelaterie) that in Italian we call “bar.” I know in English “bar” usually means pub, but here it’s a term used to describe cafes.
So for my first visit back in Nemi I decided to wear a dress and my favourite pair of orange wedges to give the outfit a pop of colour and make it a little more summery, I also added a pair of Prima Classe earrings and a bracelet I was given by a friend in Canada. Towards the end of our walk I decided to switch my shoes and put on a pair of colourful sandals I bought in Toronto just a few weeks before I left.
