I have to be honest here and tell you that I am a big over thinker. I worry a lot about what other people might think of me.
How to stop thinking about what other people might think of you
I often try to relate to other people, trying to imagine what their thoughts and reactions might be if faced with a similar situation as to what I am dealing with. It’s not a healthy way of thinking as it only deepens the fear of what the people around me might think of me. Writing on this blog, especially this past year, has helped me get over this mind-block that I created in my own head. So here are a few tips that help me get over those negative thoughts and get on with my life!
Everyone has insecurities: I was talking to a friend and she’s the one that came up with this interesting point. We often don’t think about this, but we are all humans and we have all insecurities and things that we don’t talk about publicly. Why not just stop thinking about what the next person might think about us and focus on what we really love to do? If what we’re doing makes us happy, why not just keep doing it? As long as it doesn’t harm anyone else obviously!
Everyone is living in their own little world: We all have our own worries and things to do daily, so we’re more invested in our own lives and probably don’t even have enough time to think too deeply about what that other person is doing in their spare time. People are way too busy these days to even remember about that “embarrassing” conversation that’s been running on repeat in your mind for the past week. If an embarrassing situation happened, the best thing to do is just to forget about it and move on. You’ll be able to look back at it and laugh about it in the near future.
Stop overthinking things: I am honestly guilty of this one! With time I’ve been able to relax a little more and overthink a little less. But it’s so difficult to just cut this bad habit out! Insecurity creeps in and the overthinking act begins! What might people think about what I’m doing right now? Will they judge me? Is it a bad choice? Stop it right now! If you love what you do and you’re passionate about it, just keep on going! I had so many thoughts, so many times I just thought about deleting my blog because, what would people think? But I am still here, writing and publishing articles because it makes me feel better and it makes me feel like I can look back at this small little world I created for myself and see how much I’ve grown. Take it from me, keep doing what you love!
Stop thinking “What if” and just go for it! What if it doesn’t work out? what if? I dislike the “what if” so much! You’ll never know what could be if you never try right? So why waste all this energy on doubting yourself when you could just be using it to do something that you really love? It’s fear talking. The first step is always the hardest one to take after all.
I hope these tips help you like they help me! I thought that this topic was perfect for this shoot I did. It’s a little sexier than my regular shoots, and I really had to get into the right mindset to take good photos. I loved the lace bralette that you can kind of notice under this gorgeous Tobi black satin blouse. This blouse is so comfortable and loose, perfect to pair with a lace bra and an all-black ensemble.
So true! Love this look too!
