Yesterday was my birthday and I blew out 22 candles. I decided to keep it quiet and simple this year so I spent my day with my family and I helped my mom make the cake. This was a new cake that had never made or even tried. In fact, we found out about it watching a baking show called Bake off, the Italian version and we thought it looked amazing so I decided I wanted it for my birthday!
If you think about it, so many things can change in a year, last November I was in Toronto, out with my friends, this year I’m back in Italy, with my family, time flies and all we can do is embrace every single moment of our lives and try to live in the moment. I’m very thankful for every single experience I’ve been able to live so far and I can’t wait to see what will happen in the future. If I had to choose one birthday that I really enjoyed I would probably say my 19th birthday, better known as “my first year in Toronto.” I had just moved to Canada a couple of months before and since I had just met the people that now I consider some of the best friends I have, I wasn’t planning on doing anything too special. I invited a couple of friends from school and then my cousin and her friends and we were supposed to go out to a bar, but when I got there I saw those couple of friends, plus many others classmates. Later my friend told me she had created a group on Facebook for my birthday, I was moved, surprised and happy at the same time. That’s when I realized I was becoming part of a group. I told you my favourite birthday, what is your favourite birthday memory?
Now, on another note, while looking through my closet I found my beloved leather skirt that I haven’t worn in a long time, so I decided to wear it and to pair it with a simple black top. Although I love an all-black ensemble, this time I decided to lighten up the look with my nude pumps and my statement necklace and give it a pop of colour with my lovely Kate Spade bag.
