What’s in my October Glam Bag

If you’re a makeup and beauty junkie like me, you will love and be obsessed with ipsy.com. Never heard of it? Well, Ipsy is an online company that sends you a glam bag every month for only $10!

I personally discovered them from a friend who Instagrammed her glam bag and made me instantly sign up. All you have to do is answer an online quiz so they can narrow down your makeup preferences and needs, and before you know it your bag is on its way.

This month’s glam bag is valued at $49 and comes in a golden make up bag.

Meet Matt(e) Hughes : This is a long lasting liquid lipstick that has a matte finish to it. As you apply the lipstick, it has a mild minty smell to it and you can feel it on the lips. I was sent the colour “committed” which is described as a ‘pinky nude’ but I felt like the colour was more on the pink side. When you first apply the lipstick, the product is very liquidly, but once dried you get a matte finish. I felt like the matte finish was a little on the chalky side and was a bit sticky.

Lavanila: Describe as a ‘healthy fragrance’ which you can tell instantly from its very light yet pure scent. The perfume is in a roll on bottle that came in the scent ‘pure vanilla’. This product is great if you’re very health conscious and prefer the natural route, but I personally found it too light for my liking. 

Gel Effect Nail Lacquer: When it comes to my nail polish I am very picky ad critical. I usually stick with shellac, but after trying this brand I absolutely fell in love. Gel effects are a nail polish brand that doesn’t need any UV light or a clear polish after. It’s so glossy and dries very quickly as well. The colour I was sent was ‘Aurora’ which is a dark purple that is perfect for fall.

Ayres Hand Cream: With this one, a little goes a long way. Ayres can sometimes be greasy for your hands and is best when you use a little at a time. It has a very light scent-very natural smelling and could be good for someone who doesn’t like strong scented lotions. I recommend this product for someone who has very dry hands during the cold months. 

Pretty Eyes Automatic Eyeliner: This eyeliner came in the colour ‘plum’ and it’s so creamy and glides on very easy. It’s a great colour for going out or if you want to play around and try something different with your make up. This brand is known for creating that perfect winged liner look and comes in other colours like black and blue.
